Small Claims Appeal – Fixed Fee Support
If you want to appeal a decision made in the small claims track, strict deadlines apply and appeals must be clearly argued. I can prepare the appellant’s notice, grounds of appeal and written arguments on a fixed-fee basis.
Why people instruct me for small claims appeals
Fixed-fee clarity
Full preparation of the appellant’s notice
Grounds of appeal drafted by a barrister
Clear advice on whether your appeal is arguable
Fast turnaround within the 21-day deadline
Optional representation at the appeal hearing
Appealing a small claims decision
Appeals from the small claims track have a strict 21-day deadline.
If this deadline is missed, you must apply for permission to appeal out of time, giving a detailed explanation for the delay and reducing your chance of success.
A small claims appeal is not a new hearing. The appeal court is concerned with whether the judge:
made an error of law,
reached a decision no reasonable judge could have reached,
misunderstood key facts or evidence, or
acted unfairly or outside proper procedure.
You cannot appeal simply because you disagree with the decision.
You must identify specific errors and explain them carefully and concisely.
I prepare the appellant’s notice, draft your grounds of appeal, advise on prospects and guide you through the appeal process.
